Realizing The American Dream.

Hi All....

I am sure if you are viewing this blog, you must be in a catch 22 situation and must be in some confusion about your H1B Visa, how to apply for H1b or must have applied for one and waiting for either the acceptance/approval notice or worried about the interview and then about moving to US, and that is the reason I thought of putting certain things clear which are only my personal experiences and in no way represent anything which is official or something which is documented. Its my effort to bring forward the real time scenarios so that everyone is aware of the hardships and they clear their myths before they land to realize their American Dream as this dream does come with a lot of salt and pepper.

I would also appreciate if people can also share their experiences which might be of some help to someone in need of just a word of comfort or support or least get some facts clear which he/she might now be aware of.

Starting with my experience, I started of dreaming to come to US when I was in school and I guess most of us start doing the same at that age as we are full of energy and start dreaming without any boundaries, without thinking about how to achieve them. each one of us think of becoming big one day with a lot of money, power and comfort at our side. This not only keeps us going but at the same time help each one grow individually into someone who has aspirations in life, for self, for family, for friends. Once we are out of the college, that is when we come across the real life, with no rose beds, no comfort zone, where everyone is fighting for oneself , to achieve their dreams and goals.. and that is something which happened with me as well. Straight out of the college and had no idea what to do. Maybe I didn't plan it well or maybe somewhere down the line, I forgot about my dream but its never too late if you really have a dream which you really want to fulfill. After the college, the most lucrative thing to have happened to me was a job at a Support Center ("Call Center"), starting off as a fresher with a salary of about 9000 a month, who thought I was destined to something I would have never imagined. It was the time when outsourcing was at its peak and the most "in thing" was to be a part of a Call Center. And there began my journey... to a new life.. new social circle.. new activities!! I was enjoying it but at the same time, I had my dream all set in my mind... that was to move to US and start a new life and settle there with everything that I could possibly dream of. Lucky for me, I was able to find an employer who filled my H1B and "LUCKY" or "BLESSED" is the word as I got through the lottery system and got the approval notice as well... but the wait time was the only thing that was killing as it took almost 7-8 months for the whole process to finish and then came the new situation, if I should go to get it stamped or not as people in US and in India were of the idea that I should go to US on the tourist/business visa (which I already had as I had been to US for some personal visit sometime back). Finally, my employer came to the conclusion that I should not take a risk and come to US and then file for the change of status and Bingo... as God might have planned it, I moved to US, applied for the amendment and got the status changed to H1B and that is what I am on now, all set to start a new venture in life with a totally new mindset but with a belief that "If you have the guts to dream then keep the guts to fulfill them" and that's what I tell myself at times when everything is not going in my favor.

This is the key to succeed in life, "Dare to dream and Dare to fulfill them", don't give up mid way as if you don't keep your spirits high to achieve something, then you will never be SOMEONE and to be SOMEONE, you have to dream Big and follow your heart to achieve it.

So all the people who have dreamt of coming to US but are thinking of dropping the idea just coz of the hardships coming their way or people discouraging them, I just have one piece of advice, Listen to your heart, do what it tells you as "Heart doesnot have a mind" so the chances of failing donot arise since your heart will not think about failing, so at the end you are the Real Winner.

So strive hard to achieve your dreams and make them come true as you just have one life and I would really suggest... Make the Most out of your life!!!

Cheers to those who have realized their dreams and Best of Luck to those who want to work to achieve them!!
